What is the Gamer Lounge?

The Gamer Lounge is your place to come in, hang out with your friends and play some video games.  We’ll have weekly gaming programs and regular tournaments to test your skills against your friends and the local librarians.

What Games Do We Have?

Who Can Use the Gamer Lounge?

The Gamer Lounge is reserved for use by library patrons between the ages of 12 and 18. The library will also host special times for adults to enjoy the games as well. Please keep an eye on the King Library calendar to learn about these adult programs as they are scheduled.

How Can I Use the Gamer Lounge?

All the games and consoles are available for use inside the Gamer Lounge, but we won’t be checking them out to take home. There’s no need to reserve them, just ask at the staff desk and we’ll hook you (and them) up. You can play games any time we haven’t reserved the space for special programs.

Share the space, be cool to each other, and have fun.

Can I Bring My Own Games to the Gamer Lounge?

Don’t like what we have? Bring your own games and accessories from home. You’re welcome to play any game rated “T” or lower.

Can I Make My Own Games?

Yes! We’ve installed game development software including Unity 5, Unreal Engine and GameMaker: Studio on all of our TeenHQ public computers. The computers also have online access to game development e-resources through Lynda.com, Treehouse and Books 24x7.
